Simple ceremonies are generally what I think of as "Justice of the Peace" weddings. They are no muss, not fuss affairs.

I've done such weddings in parks, backyards, living rooms, bed & breakfasts, hotels, restaurants, campgrounds, etc.

older couple

These kinds of weddings are especially popular with my clients who have been married before and/or are older and just don't want all of the stress that goes along with planning a hugerodney and lorene party.

No rehearsal is necessary. If there are any attendants, there usually isn't a processional. I ask "are you ready?" to those gathered around and when the bride and groom say so, I begin.

The ceremony is usually one of my pre-written ones, though sometimes the bride and groom give me a ceremony that they have written or found on the Internet or in a book.
