Fees

Because different couples have different needs, I offer different options. All packages include a free, no-obligation consultation; travel within the Portland Metro or Clark County, WA areas; and the filing of the marriage license afterwards. A $50 deposit is required to lock in the wedding date. These fees are negotiable to some extent. Also, I offer a military discount. I accept cash or checks, though not credit cards at this time.

Elopement Package $150

This is for those who want a very simple "justice of the peace" type wedding usually involving just the couple and two witnesses.  With adequate notice I can even round up the witnesses. The couple has their choice of pre-written ceremonies. Most often the only contact is via phone or email to arrange for the meeting.

Basic Package $200

This is for those who want a very simple wedding. There is no rehearsal or the usual fuss, pomp and circumstance. I arrive a half hour before the ceremony at the site (often a living room, bed & breakfast, backyard, etc.) then read the couple's choice from my pre-written ceremonies. There is more preparation than for an elopement.

Simple Wedding with Rehearsal Package $275

This package is for those who have a very small wedding party and want to use a pre-written ceremony with a little customizing or a ceremony that they provide. Usually only one meeting is required beyond the consultation or everything is handled via phone or email. I attend the rehearsal to help familiarize the wedding party with their wedding day duties.

Standard Wedding Package $350

This is for the usual wedding with a wedding party, rehearsal, and semi-formal or formal ceremony. I meet with the couple as often as necessary after the consultation meeting to work out details for a custom ceremony. I attend the rehearsal and help direct the wedding party through all of the actions required during the wedding ceremony.

Extras

This includes extra meetings for working out the details of especially complex ceremonies, a custom wedding certificate (in Oregon and Washington a keepsake marriage certificate is included with the marriage license), a ceremony requiring extensive new material or rewriting, travel outside of the Portland or Vancouver areas, etc. The certificate is included for commitment ceremonies at no additional cost.
